Area Guide
Famous for its distinctive red brick terrace houses, Burley is a suburb of the city that stretches from Kirkstall Road towards Headingley. With fewer pubs than the latter, Burley is a great compromise; close enough to the pubs of Headingley for easy nights out, but a touch quieter for anyone wanting to balance their social life with some peace and quiet at home. Burley residents are spoiled for choice when it comes to public transport, though, so are always within easy reach of neighbouring facilities and the city centre, with their own railway station and several regular bus routes. Closer to home, they can enjoy the cinema complex at Cardigan Fields Leisure Park, which features a Warner Village cinema, Hollywood Bowl, Virgin Active gym and several restaurants, and can even participate in the annual Triangle Art Day, when Burley residents open their homes and gardens to showcase art work.
