Situated between Headingley and the University of Leeds, bohemian Hyde Park is home to a vast number of the city’s student population and offers just about everything a student could wish for in the area. Popular haunts include the independent art house cinema, the Hyde Park Picture House, the Royal Park pub and the Brudenell Social Club, one of the best live music venues in Leeds that has played host to the likes of Kaiser Chiefs and Badly Drawn Boy. There are also a handful of excellent vintage clothes shops, several great pubs and takeaways and some must-visit café’s, including the Star Wars-themed Fab Café. When the sun is shining, though, the park itself is the area’s main draw and is a great place to relax and sunbathe with all your fellow Hyde Park residents.
