About Headingley

With a friendly mix of students from the nearby university, families and young professionals, Headingley has always been one of Leeds’ most popular areas. Buzzing at all times of the day and night, it’s just two miles out of the city centre and is world-famous as the headquarters of Yorkshire cricket but even better known locally for its many excellent pubs. These range from the perennial student favourite, The Original Oak, popular for its many nooks and crannies and bowling green turned beer garden, to the quiet local that is Woodies and the hip, glass-fronted arc, which offers DJs and live music. There is plenty more to do in Headingley beyond the pubs too. Excellent restaurants include Salvo’s Italian and Bryans, which serves some of the best fish and chips for miles around, while other amenities include The Cottage Road cinema, the Arndale Centre and several cafés and banks. Headingley even has its very own Market, held once a month selling produce made within 30 miles of the area.
